About the Discount Calculator
Sale signs usually show a percentage off, not the price you will actually pay. This calculator gives you both the saving and the final price, which helps when comparing offers or checking a receipt.
The calculator works with any currency because it only uses the numbers you enter. It does not add sales tax or VAT, and it applies a single discount. For stacked discounts, run the calculation again using the first final price as the new original price.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100 to get the saving, then subtract it from the original price. 25% off 80 is 80 × 0.25 = 20, so the final price is 60.
How do I calculate two discounts, like 20% off then an extra 10%?
Apply them one after the other. Calculate the first discount, then use that final price as the original price for the second discount.
Does it include sales tax?
No. The result is the price after the discount only, so add any tax separately.
Which currency does it use?
None in particular. Enter amounts in any currency and the result will be in the same currency.
